Looking back at my life, a few years ago, I wonder, how I lived through those stressful days. A nine-to-six job stretched till 7.30. And after my return from work, family and kids were my top most priority. Always on the move with no time for anything, it was the ‘me time’ what I longed for and got occasionally. With some pending jobs left, I had to forgo that most desired ‘me time’ too. Compromise and constant worry over petty issues had long become the pattern of my life. Balancing work and life was difficult. Believing that things will improve, I had pulled on. Life simply passed by.
On one rare occasion, my analytical mind took over and made sense of what I was going through, questioning me on why was the need for the struggle and compromise for almost everything. And it took some guts for me to embrace the risk of quitting my job. It took me good amount of time to accept the new life style. For me it was a wake-up call after a long sleep of ignorance!
Letting go of things that are not under our control opens the door for opportunities. My piece of advice for all the working women:
There always comes a point in life when you feel stuck and life comes to a complete stand still. Or you are at the cross roads of life. It is then, a gentle reminder for a relook into your past with a different perspective. A call for some significant change!
Plans for life don’t always work the way we want. So take charge and steer it in the direction you want. It may be intimidating but taking a reasonable risk adds colour to life.
I wish I had this piece of supportive words when I desperately was in need of it. It was through my experience I learnt that some things are not worth bothering about and plunging into some action takes you forward.

I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self that nothing can last forever. Better days are approaching fast. So get ready!
