Past few days had been a mad rush
for me in setting up my new home and settling with good schools for my
kids. Fortunately, things have turned
out pretty well in quite a short span of time.
Though there are a few things yet
to be worked on. And reading was the
only activity that kept me patient and sane during these hard days of waiting
for plumbers, carpenters, electricians. With the good grace of one of my family friends,
I could lay my hands on some of the books which otherwise I wouldn’t have
read. Out of those, Brains
that work a little bit differently was one that cleared a long pending doubt of
mine, about Deja-vu. I had experienced
and was so marveled at a feeling of having already lived through a certain situation.
That was the first piece of information that satisfied me with its explanation.
I also read some management books and
autobiographies. And now, a while ago I
just finished The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwarty. So Insightful was the information!
I am happy that I did a sensible choice
of reading and was able to keep out the discomforts stemming out of waiting for
the craftsmen who never turns up at the said time.
I remember reading Robin Sharma’s,
The Greatness Guide where he has mentioned, Reading is one of the discipline I
know of “to stay on your game” and at your highest. Yes it indeed is. It kept my emotions in
check and also motivated me to come up with this piece of blog. It often is so-those simple, old-fashioned
hobbies restore our mental equilibrium.
It's the reading for me. What is it for you that keeps your discomfort away?
