I
call it a small town. What else can a
township with about 25000 population, with well built houses and all the basic
facilities situated just a few steps away be called? The luxury provided being - the balcony and
the gardening area provided for every house, a beautiful temple, eating joints,
a shopping complex where almost everything is available, a plush cinema hall,
well maintained roads with road signals installed, school, a sports club, swimming
pool, Gym and of course exhibition and sale of electronic items, clothes, two
wheelers and four wheelers. For a city
dweller, to have at least few of those may be a distant dream.
At
the same time, sometimes I see myself questioning….Is this really a luxury or a
trap? Always confined with limitations, encountering
the same old faces day-in and day-out, can it be ever interesting? During my
occasional evening walks when I over hear the conversation of women around, moaning
about the working hours of men and stressful life, I feel helpless. I compel myself to remind that it is the
life that I chose and end up with taking counts on the positives of life. After
all, what it is that we need at the end of the day? May be some amount of peace!
Embracing
the reality of the life style, term it busy or hectic or fast pacing, there are
some wise women who have kept themselves busy involving in cultural activities
or some voluntary initiatives, forming a
group. But there are others out there
who still are trying to find out what it is, that can help them stay happy. And though I don’t regret to say that I am
one among the later lot of women, I admit I still am trying hard to compromise
with the limitations that I am offered with.
Enduring the repetitiveness of life and distressing boredom, often succumbing
to sadness I wish for some balance.
The grass is always greener on the other
side.
It's part we thought ...
